    "content": "(b) I am also aware that some rumors have been circulating in the area that there are potential witnesses who are scared of volunteering information for fear of retribution from the suspects. The truth behind these rumors is being investigated by the police. However, the local Police Commanders have made an appeal through the local leaders including the local Member of Parliament, hon. Joseph Gitari, assuring such witnesses that their evidence shall be taken in strict confidence. If it is established that there is prudence to these rumors, appropriate measures will be taken in conjunction with the witness protection agency established under the Witnesses Protection Act, No.79 of 2008."
