    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise on a point of order to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Energy on the current countrywide shortage of petroleum products, particularly diesel and petrol. The shortage started in Western Kenya some months ago, and it has now spread to the whole country. If that shortage is not brought under control, it will have a negative impact on the economy. The persistent shortage has, to a large extent, caused the current high pump prices in the country. I would like the Minister to specifically address the following:- (i) What are the causes of the shortage? (ii) What intervention measures will the Government take to alleviate the shortage, both in the short-term and in the long-term?"
