Uhuru Kenyatta graciously conceded defeat and reaffirmed his commitment that he would discharge his duties as a loyal Opposition to the best of his ability as mandated by the electorate as a legitimate alternative Government. Thus, he led a tangible entity, which was identifiable, qualifiable and voluble party, capable and willing to form a Government. Hon. Members, I am informed that on 9th January, 2003, the KANU Parliamentary Group met under the chairmanship of hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, and hon. Justin Muturi was elected as the Chief Whip of the party. Again, on 11th June, 2003, the Leader of the Official Opposition Party submitted a list appointing the late Dr. Bonaya Godana as the Deputy Leader of the Party in the House and nominated Members to serve as spokespersons on various Ministerial responsibilities, popularly referred to as the \"Shadow Cabinet\". So, hon. Members, the Chair has not, to date, received any notification that the KANU Parliamentary Caucus has met and made any changes in their leadership."
