(a) The criteria being used by the pending bills closing committee to approve or reject the pending claims focuses on the grounds on which the claim is made and the supporting documents availed to the committee by the claimants. (b) Since the pending bills closing committee has not yet finalised its work and submitted its final report, it is not possible for me to table a list of firms whose claims were approved and those whose claims were not approved. (c) Appropriate action will be taken against any public officer who is investigated and found to have approved fraudulent claims against the Government."
