"content": " Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I wish to address you and confirm that the KIPT does exist and is very competently run by a 2414 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES July 26, 2006 gracious lady. Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, on the issues of the KIPO, it is important to understand that the computerisation of the recording of patents, utility models in this country and the public awareness about how to get trade marks and patents for their intellectual property is taking so much more required resources than we were able to use even as of now. The resources we have are modest. We could have done a lot more. The work for example of popularising to Kenyans conditions so as not to replicate a situation where a kiondo patented in Korea requires more resources for this awareness and this is what we are trying to do through the KIPO."
