(a) I am aware that the construction project for Katito-Awasi Road E220 and E1121 which started in February, 2005 is ongoing but has not stalled. (b) The project had been programmed to be completed by 15th August, 2006, but owing to delays and slow work progress, it will not be possible. However, the contractor has been instructed to submit a revised work programme which will indicate when the project will be completed. (c) The total contract sum is Kshs136,741,728. To date, the total amount that has been paid to the contractor is Kshs30,529,542.83. (d) There are no immediate plans to upgrade the road to bitumen standards."
