    "content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) No, I am not aware that KPLC has a total monopoly over the importation, sale and installation of electricity transformers in the country. In fact, KPLC does not import transformers for resale. It imports them to facilitate the provision of electricity to its customers. (b) Charges levied by KPLC are usually set by the Electricity Regulatory Board in consultation with other stakeholders. (c) There is no transformer trade in the country to warrant liberalisation. However, KPLC has introduced a new connection policy which makes it cheaper to get connected."
