(a) I am aware that Mr. Elisha Kiptanui Serem, an employee of the National Animal Husbandry Research Institute (NAHRI) in Naivasha, was severely injured by a wild animal on 17th October, 2000 at 11.05 a.m. while on duty within the Research Centre's precincts. (b) I am further aware that Mr. Serem incurred enormous expenses while undergoing treatment. (c) Mr. Serem has duly been paid under the Workmen's Compensation Act a total of Kshs117,906 through the District Labour Office in Naivasha vide cheque No.014975 in June, 2001."
