(a) Yes, I am aware that Njumbi-Gatunguru-Mioro Road serves Nyayo Tea Zones, Gatunguru Tea Factory and links important trading centres which include the Mathioya Divisional Headquarters. (b) Due to budgetary constraints, my Ministry has no immediate plans to upgrade the road to bitumen standard. However, the road will be improved to gravel standard under the French funded Roads 2000 Programme, which commences in the Financial Year 2006/2007. During the Roads Sector Stakeholders meeting held in July, 2005, the road was ranked number four in Murang'a District priority list."
