Yesterday, I requested the Deputy Leader of Government Business to let me know what steps were taken by the Minister for Finance in pursuance of an order I made from the Chair with regard to the operationalisation of the Privatisation Act. That is almost three weeks ago now. Is the Minister for Finance here? Hon. Members, a few weeks ago, I directed the Minister for Finance to operationalise an Act of Parliament which was passed by this House two years ago. I said then, that unlike the 3870 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES September 12, 2007 President, the Minister for Finance has no veto power. I also pointed out then, that even in the case of the President, when he refuses to assent to the Bill, he must send it to this House, stating the reasons for that refusal and this House can either agree with him or refuse to agree with him. I cannot understand the position being taken by the Minister for Finance. It"
