    "content": " Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) I am not aware that the TSC has been retiring teachers within the school term leaving students including candidates without proper tuition. (b) The Ministry will ensure that the existing policy, that teachers due for retirement are retired during the school holidays in April, August and December is adhered to by the TSC. The Ministry has instructed the TSC to keep a merit list of qualified candidates for employment following competitive interviews of candidates. This list will be used to identify candidates to replace those who exit from the service. Through this process, we will ensure that the delays do not occur in the replacement of retiring teachers. It is basically a recommendation because if we are not careful, it could also be subject to abuse, in that, those that are used to replace others may not have been the product of interviews. We want to ensure that we replace teachers as soon as they retire."
