"content": "First of all, I am a son of a freedom fighter. I know how much this country suffered when I was a little baby in 1952. We do not wish to see chaos in this country. We want peace. You can only have peace if you are ready to cultivate peace. It does not matter whether we are in the Government today or our colleagues on the Opposition side were in the Government the other day; the institutions of this country must be guarded very jealously. That is why, as we make laws in this House, we must remember that we need to be united. Politicians will come and go, whether they are in the Government or in the Opposition, but Kenya will remain. This country will live longer than the PIC Chairman, Mr. Muturi, who is on the Opposition side and I. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am happy that His Excellency the President reminded us that the country's economy grew by 5 per cent last year. An economic growth rate of 5 per cent is surely an indication that the Government is not doing badly. That is a fact of economics. I am not sure whether such a fact can be challenged."
