    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is important that this House plays its rightful role. We have seen the contradictions in both the Elections and Political Parties Acts. There are very serious contradictions that were occasioned by the rushing of those Bills through this House and the fact that the Committee stage was avoided. It is important that the Government takes advantage of the structures of this House, including the relevant Committees of this House, so that the Committees, on behalf of the House, can scrutinize legislation to make sure that they are in order, tandem and in sync with every other legislation, so that we can discharge our responsibility to the people of Kenya by ensuring that there are good laws for the governance of our country."
