    "content": "(2) A person shall not be qualified for appointment as a clerk of the county assembly unless such person- (a) is a citizen of Kenya; (b) holds a degree from a university recognized in Kenya or its equivalent; (c) has had at least five years relevant professional experience; (d) meets the requirements of leadership and integrity set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution (3) The functions and powers of a Clerk of Parliament shall with necessary modifications be the functions and powers of the clerk of a county assembly. (4) For the purposes of this Act, the clerk of a county assembly is an authorized officer. (5) The office of the clerk of the county assembly and the offices of members of the staff of the clerk of the county assembly shall be offices in the county assembly service. (6) The remuneration of the clerk and staff of the county assembly shall be determined by the county assembly service board upon the advice of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission."
