    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, the surest way to ensure food security is to have a strong and thriving farming community. To have a strong and thriving farming community, we must ensure that farming is profitable. In this country, the farmer has no friend in the Government. The farmer has to pay dearly for farming inputs when they are available. Sometimes, even those inputs are not available. Only the other day, farmers went on strike in Narok asking for farming inputs. It is not about importation and all that, but we should ensure that we produce locally. That is why some countries subsidize their farmers to ensure that farming is profitable. What is the Prime Minister or the Government going to do to ensure that farming is profitable in this country?"
