Members, the Draft Rules of Procedure contemplated by Article 50(1) of the Treaty have been drafted and will shortly be forwarded to the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations, which will then be required to table a Report for debate and adoption. Thereafter, the election of Members to serve in the East African Legislative Assembly will be undertaken by this House in accordance with those Rules.
