"content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, hon. Imanyara talked about the contingent of AMISOM. Very rightly so, the contingent of AMISOM is 9,500 as at now. The requirement was that they should be 20,000, but now that the Al Shabaab have been expelled from Mogadishu – 98 per cent of Mogadishu is now in the hands of AMISOM – it has been found prudent that the second phase which was to liberate Mogadishu and other parts of Somalia should now start immediately. Therefore, there are 9,500 of Burundi and Ugandan troops in Mogadishu. These countries have also pledged to contribute a total of 4,000. They can also go to Mogadishu if they want. Djibouti has contributed 1,000 soldiers and we are persuading them to be brought to our side, plus the soldiers that we will contribute to AMISOM. With that we think that liberation of Somalia is in the pipeline right now."
