    "content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, Section 102 (w) of the Energy Act 2006 be amended by inserting the following words immediately after the word “products”- “which must not exceed the international purchase price per unit by a factor of 1.75.” Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, in the Energy Act, 2007, there is a provision which gives the Minister a leeway to regulate the prices of fuel from time to time. The import of the addition I want to make is that in making those regulations, the new addition now seeks to guide the Minister, so that prices that come in the regulations do not exceed the crude oil price by more than 75 per cent. The import of that is such that we do not overcharge on petroleum products."
