"content": ". So, the only thing that I would like, therefore, to assure this House is that to reforms, however, difficult it is -, and I want to say that it is not that easy - is firm and will continue. I have no doubt at all that when we do formalize the actualization of the three Bills, I think you will see a major change of the police attitude and other things. The intention is not to intimidate the police but to ensure that police are equipped with the capacity to undertake their work and they approach these matters broadly. The reason this has not happened is because the curriculum in the police training colleges which we are now overhauling was totally devoid of matters like human rights and all the various things. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to say here that we are training especially the new entrants to the police academies on relevant issues like how to deal with the people. At the same time we are also re-training the serving officers. As a matter of fact, tomorrow, I will be meeting with them and insisting on the fact that in the course of their duty, they must always uphold the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This has got to be continuous. So, I therefore, want to finally say, please, give us a little bit of time and we will unveil the reforms and in actions."
