    "content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) I am aware that Utawala Estate and adjacent Mavoko urban area have no clean piped water system. (b) In order to improve water supply to Utawala and the adjacent Mavoko area, my Ministry has embarked on a serious implementation of water supply interventions, which are aimed at meeting those areas water requirements up to the year 2018. The interventions include the development of additional water sources in the aberdares and transmit the water through tunnels and pipelines. The project will deliver an additional 138 million litres per day for distribution to Nairobi and Mavoko areas. Water distribution networks will also be upgraded to improve existing water services. The above project, when completed, will complement the existing supply to Mavoko and Nairobi water supply network, which is currently delivering 8.5 million litres per day to Mavoko. The borehole sources serving Utawala area presently produce 120,000 litres per day."
