    "content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, the key word in the Treaty is “elections”. The hon. Member of Parliament here is expected to vote for a candidate; it is not a nomination; it is not something that you are just going to pass by a vote. Those individuals who will have been determined and nominated must be subjected to voting. They must be voted for by hon. Members here. We will consider constituting an electoral college; there will be ballots. I am just saying this so that we avoid the kind of acrimony that we had in 2006. Once again, I want to appeal to the leadership of political parties to take this into account and remember that whatever products they present to this House, eventually the vote of the hon. Members here will determine whether that person will be our legitimate representative or not. As I said, again, the parties have been given the role to decide and nominate, in the first instance."
