"content": " Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) In the course of conducting supervision and surveillance as mandated by the law, the Central Bank, from time to time during inspections, comes across banks that are not strictly observing all the requirements of the Banking Act and the Prudential Guidelines issued by the Central Bank as a regulator. However, Section 31(1) of the Banking Act prohibits disclosures or publication of information in the possession of the Central Bank as a result of the performance of its duties under the Act. Accordingly, the CBK is not in a position to give a list of the banks that may have violated the Banking Act and the Prudential Guidelines over the stated period for very obvious reasons. (b) In view of my answer in part “a”, part “b” does not arise."
