    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, the families of the deceased persons were represented by one advocate called M/s K.J. Kinyanjui Advocate, who received a cheque from the Kenya Government of Kshs52,170,300. Out of that amount, he paid to the families Kshs3,832,500. I successfully prosecuted him for having stolen the other money. When the matter went before the court, he actually said that he had paid. This is the amount that he had paid. That means that the balance was pocketed by him. We did not want the families to be deprived of what was lawfully due to them; so, we discovered a conspiracy between Mr. K.J. Kinyanjui, another Kinyanjui from the State Law Office, who has since disappeared and is underground, and officials in the Ministry of Home Affairs. Although they knew that the genuine amount paid totalled to Kshs3,832,500, they conspired and received a cheque of Kshs52,170,300. As I said, I prosecuted Mr. K.J. Kinyanjui, he was found guilty and the Higher court gave him a sentence of four years. He has now come out of prison and is, therefore, very busy trying to have some money back."
