    "content": "I also want to underscore the importance of this Committee. We actually need to have that oversight board so that people can start looking at all the complaints that have been leveled against the police. That is a very critical body that was identified by the people. It was important to create that oversight authority. We do hope that the men and women that we are assigning that responsibility will note what Kenyans have been yearning for and curb the excesses that we have seen in terms of the exercise of police powers and authority. People have a place to ventilate. Even the police officers between themselves have a place where they can go and sort out their issues, so that people do not resort to using might to do so."
