    "content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank, indeed, the past speakers who have made their contributions to this very important Motion, which is as a result of the contribution made here by His Excellency the President, on matters of public policy. His Excellency the President’s Statement was profound and wide ranging. It touched on very important issues which do affect this country. For example, there was the issue of the state of our economy. Indeed, His Excellency the President, in his own exposition, was able to inform this country that despite the very major drought that we experienced sometime back, the economy now has begun to recover and is on a growth trajectory. Even more important is the recognition that while the world today is experiencing very major economic crisis, especially in Europe and various other place, despite some few shocks here especially on the value of the shilling, there is monetary and also micro-economic stability. So, that is one thing which is important."
