    "content": "(c) Commercial health insurance companies are business entities outside the regulation of the Ministry of Medical Services. The regulatory capacity of the Ministry in the area targets hospitals where patients end up for medical care. The only health insurance provider under the mandate of the Ministry is the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) and has no exclusions on congenital disorders. Members of the public are, therefore, advised to insure with NHIF as it offers broad benefits that cannot be derived from other insurance insurances. To further ease the burden on Kenyans, the Ministry is also pursuing establishment of universal health insurance coverage for all Kenyans and all diseases. Regarding the revocation of licences for health insurers on account of exclusion of congenital disorders, the Ministry does not license commercial health insurance companies and is not, therefore, in a position to revoke their licences."
