    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I want to actually support the proposal by the Attorney-General because when you look at Article 230 of the Constitution, the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) has the mandate to determine all matters of compensation, salary remuneration, tax and whatever you call it of constitutional office holders and, therefore, that covers Members of Parliament. So, any review to the National Assembly Remuneration Act must have the sanction of the SRC. I stand here as a member who really campaigned for this Constitution and one of the selling points I used was telling the members of the public that we shall henceforth not increase our salaries at will."
