    "content": "Mr. Chairman, Sir, I know that we are trying to help some of us. I remember that it was none other than the Temporary Deputy Chairlady, Dr. Laboso, when the Bill on elections was here for discussion, she said: “We cannot legislate for ourselves as Members of Parliament.” If this amendment was saying that we are going to lower for all Kenyans until the election of 2017, I would accept it. But to say that it should serve only those of us who are here, that is discriminatory and I am sure if you go to a court of law it will be declared unconstitutional. Surely, we should say that if you do not have these qualifications today then let other people in your constituency have the same rights to compete with you. This is because they are the ones who put you in office and then come 2017 you must have a degree. Let us not look at just a few of us here. I oppose."
