Members, let me just quote a section of the letter:- “The Commission is, therefore, greatly alarmed by the proposals by the National Assembly to use the Statutes Miscellaneous (Amendments) Bill to amend crucial provisions of the Elections and Political Parties Act. Worryingly, some of the proposed amendments are clearly not intended for the purpose of reforming the law but rather aimed at the personal interest of currently serving Members of Parliament which is a direct contravention of Article 261 of the Constitution."
