"content": "On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I believe that hon. Kimunya is correct in this respect because the Constitution is quite clear that a person who wants to be an independent candidate must not be a member of any party for three months before. If we reduce the period, in fact, this particular aspect would be unconstitutional because you will not be able to verify how a candidate can become independent. Since it comes from the Chairman of the Committee, in which I am a Member, I want to take the advice that hon. Kimunya has given us. Perhaps it would be wiser for us to withdraw it and look towards aligning all of these things maybe at a later date."
