"content": "CONSTITUTIONALITY OF TABLING OF MOTION ON VOTE ON ACCOUNT Hon. Members, during the afternoon sitting of the House yesterday, Wednesday, 20th June, 2012, the Member for Gwassi, hon. John Mbadi, rose on a point of order and sought the ruling of the Chair on a matter of the tabling of a Motion on Vote on Account. He laid on the Table two letters from the Treasury dated 19th June, 2012 and 20th June, 2012, respectively. One of the letters was addressed to the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Budget Committee and related to the Report of the Committee on the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the Financial Year, 2012/2013. In this letter, the Treasury sought to inform the Committee that although the Treasury agreed in principle on the recommendations made by the Committee on the Estimates as approved by the House, the Treasury was concerned that some of the proposed expenditure cuts would have adverse effects on the ability of the Government to deliver some critical services. Hon. Members who are at the bar may now walk in."
