"content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) My Ministry has already invited tenders for the installation of CCTV cameras within the Nairobi Metropolis. The tender was advertized on 5th June, 2012, and the opening of the tender documents has been scheduled for 19th July, 2012. (b) The Government is in the process of revising the current Planning and Building Regulations, 2012. In the course of this revision, the requirement to install CCTV cameras will be considered for incorporation. That notwithstanding, my Ministry will provide the basic infrastructure for basic CCTV cameras for building owners to tap into. (c) My Ministry is in discussion with the Commissioner of Police to enhance metropolitan policing by setting up a metropolitan police unit within the Central Business District. Thank you."
