    "content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Report before the House calls in question the issue of merit and the need to spend public funds on an exercise which already to some people is fait accompli . The House will recall that during the process of the appointment of the Chief Justice of Kenya, when names of nominees were brought here and one side of the Coalition Government said that they had not been consulted; the list was immediately taken back to the two Principals for the issue of lack of consultation to be sorted out. The issue was sorted out and thereafter we got a Chief Justice in a process that looked acceptable to all of us."
