    "content": "(d) The Ministry and the Government as a whole has put the following measures in place to cushion the sugar consumers from the escalating prices:- (i) We want to reduce the cost of production by supporting the farmers with credit to enhance cane development. (ii) Support the farmers through low cost fertilizers. (iii) Support the farmers through rural roads infrastructure. (iv)We are also allowing the importation of duty free sugar from within the COMESA region."
