As I indicated earlier, we do not have a major short-term measure because at the end of the day, until when we can control the cost of production and produce adequate cane for the local consumption, the prices will still go up. The Government is in support of even the Bill that is before this House, namely, The Price Control Bill, to ensure that the consumers are protected in one way or the other and ensure that our citizens do not suffer a lot."
