(a) I am not aware that KNUT has called for a special NEC on 19th August, 2012 and of an Advisory Council meeting on 29th August, 2012 for the purpose of calling a national teachers strike. I am also not aware of the stated Legal Notice No.531 of 1997. (b) In view of my answer to part (a) above, I am not taking any measures unless the matter is brought to my attention. (c) I am not giving any assurance on payment of allowances to teachers as both the Ministry of Education and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) are not mandated to increase salaries or allowances.
