"content": " Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, this is a very important constitutional Bill. Thank you for protecting the dignity of this House. In terms of the hurdles that were being presented by that Bill, that 200,000 candidates were going to appear to be vetted, it is simply not practical. I believe the civil society is getting it wrong when they believe that the same vetting that we saw for people applying for positions to be appointed should be subjected to all the people seeking public office. There is no better way of vetting in terms of people seeking public office through elections than through the campaigns that we all go through. It is through the campaigns stretch, through all those days when you appear before the people and convince them to vote for you, that is when they know the good from the bad.
