"content": "“(1) This Constitution shall be interpreted in a manner that – (a) Promotes its purposes, values and principles; (b) Advances the rule of law, and the human rights and fundamental freedoms in the Bill of Rights; (c) Permits the development of the law; and (d) Contributes to good governance”. In interpreting this law in respect of anything, we must uphold these principles in Article 259. Now going straight to the matter, it was no accident that Article 92 of the Constitution has now turned political parties into constitutional organs. Previously, political parties operated outside the realm of the Constitution. Article 92 of the Constitution has changed that. We are now debating, not just any organ, but constitutional organs."
