    "content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I support the deletion of this provision. We are trying to get away from the past. We have seen how pre-election coalitions have caused havoc in this country. Time has now come for us to move forward. In the opinion of the Committee, coalitions, if any, should be formed after an election. Coalition of parties as envisaged in the Constitution means that if a political party, after fighting in an election, has not been able to garner the necessary votes or the necessary numbers in Parliament for them to form a government, or for them to have a majority to be able to produce a Leader of Majority, that party should seek a coalition with other like-minded parties in order for them to be able to govern. So, I support the amendment, so that this country can move forward."
