    "content": "while in the UK and differences over travel dates, un-coordinated distribution of team kits and pre-competition injuries sustained by some athletes undermined our performance in London. The Government, together with the National Olympic Committee is working actively to develop a programme of action for the improvement of the selection process, training and team management. Other areas of focus include the review of how officials are appointed, how to improve the level of cooperation between the Sporting Federation and the National Olympic Committee and how to limit the influence of managers and spouses over athletes during the Olympic Games. Our athletes are our best ambassadors. As a country we should invest in them and help to nurture their talents. It is apparent that more effort should be invested on how to reward them but also in helping them invest their income and handle stardom. Mr. Speaker, Sir, finally, when I was in London, I did make an announcement that Kenya was going to bid to host the 2024 Olympics. This is an intention which is well- intended and requires the support of the whole of this country. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to move."
