Members know, unlike in the old days, when it was purely amateur, and when one would never be allowed to engage in commercial competition, the International Athletics Association Confederation (IAAC) has now allowed athletes to compete for money. Athletes are paid as they run. This has now opened a very lucrative avenue for our athletes, and we congratulate a number of them who have done very well in that regard."
