    "content": "most of these athletes who were winning come and train in the same environment where our own athletes also train. As I have said, the performance in London was not that poor. If you compare with all the other Olympics, it is only second to Beijing in terms of the number of medals won. In Beijing, we won 14 medals. In London, we won 11 medals. It is only that there were fewer gold medals but in terms of the total medals haul, London is always second to Beijing. So, therefore, it is not a disaster getting a silver medal instead of getting a gold medal. The people should not be lamenting and actually looking down upon you that you did not do well. You did well. We need to be proud because South Africa is rated higher than Kenya. They got only six medals – the three gold medals and five others but they were rated higher than Kenya but because we got 11 medals, we need to be proud of the performance of our boys and girls instead of just looking down upon them and saying it is a shame, shame. It is a shame and they got 11 medals? Some African countries went there and came back with nothing and so did many other countries."
