    "content": "hurled at a lorry ferrying police officers at Mwandoni area. As a result, one officer died on the spot while 12 others were injured and rushed to hospital for treatment. On Wednesday 29th August, two more police officers succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment bringing the total number to three, who included, one Kipchumba Kipngetich, James Macharia and Abdul Aziz Hassan. All the officers are from the Prisons Department. Mr. Speaker, Sir, the lobbing of the grenade on the police officers by the demonstrators is unusual. This indicates that the demonstrators were infiltrated by terrorist elements, some of whom are in possession of illicit firearm and explosive devices. We are appealing to members of the public to co-operate with the law enforcement agencies and volunteer information that will lead to the arrest of these criminal elements in their midst. In the meantime, the Government deployed 234 additional security personnel as of Tuesday, 28th night to beef up security in the area. Further, the Director of CID has deployed some experts from his department to investigate the killing."
