Let the professionalism exhibited by our defence forces be now displayed at home and let the police force wake up and have the same professionalism, and let us, as Parliament, speed up the police reforms to ensure this. Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, we know there are vested political interests that are also a security threat in the Tana Delta and in many other areas. Let all those with criminal intent and those who go ahead execute their criminal intent be arrested and prosecuted. It is impunity that is making these things happen. People have killed time and again and have not been prosecuted. People have maimed others and have destroyed property but are going scot free. That is why lawlessness is spreading in this country. It is time that this Parliament put its stamp of authority on this area and deployed our defence forces to deal with the situation internally. We have enough personnel to help in the neighbouring countries and to be deployed at home. Let us do it now, and let us not doubt our defence forces. Let us urge them to act within the law and protect life, property and human rights of all as they execute this mission. I strongly support."
