    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the cost of the poles has never risen to Kshs25,000 per pole. Secondly, for more than 10 years now, the poles have been standing there without wires due to vandalism. Therefore, the cost cannot be Kshs25,000 or whatever cost they had been bought earlier. It is good to rid the country of those poles now in a very organized manner. That is why we are selling them. Some of them are old while some have been consumed by termites. Besides that, Telkom Kenya has a right to sell the poles at whatever price they want to sell them. That is part of the asset base that they want to get rid of."
