"content": " Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) I am aware that schools have programmes that run into the weekends when many religious groups have their prayer days. However, such schools have provision for students to proceed to prayers as per the requirement of their religious groups. That should not in any way violate their freedom of worship as provided for in the Bill of Rights, Article 32 of the Constitution. (b) I have appointed Board of Governors for public schools. Part of their mandate is to develop rules and regulations for the everyday running of schools. Such rules should not in any way force students to attend school programmes on their day of worship as provided for under the Education Act, Cap.211, Laws of Kenya."
