Let us have a board that deals with administrative and policy issues and let the CBK Governor deal with the technical issues of monetary policy. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to urge the hon. Members to realize that this is a step forward and not backwards. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I support the amendment to create the position of Chairman of the Board. I also support the creation of the positions of two Deputy Governors, to support the Governor in running the monetary policy of this country."
