Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the main purpose of this Bill is to provide for a legislative framework for promoting the principle of gender parity and equity while also ensuring that all Kenyans enjoy the fundamental rights to equality and freedom from discrimination. In establishing this framework, the Bill seeks to restructure the Kenya National Human Rights and Equality Commission, so as to establish a gender and equality Commission with the later being the successor to the former for this purpose.
