    "content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I recall that during the Mau Mau struggle of 1952, women were left with children. Women became leaders of families. Women were beaten by loyalist, but they never gave up. At times, they were forced into second marriages. Other times, women have suffered unnecessary rapes. Women of Kenya supplied freedom fighters with food in the forest and nobody cares to recognize that critical role played by them. I recall that in 1922, I was not born then, but the first uprising in this country was led by a gallant woman of this country."
