"content": "The Government must lead by example, because it has set a very terrible example by disobeying laws. We already have court orders which, even as we speak, are being disobeyed by the Executive. So, we cannot have double standards. We should not expect certain people to obey the law when the Government itself is setting a bad precedence. However, I want to say that this law is very good. As a person with a human rights background, I am very keen on human rights language and balancing. I have actually seen that, in terms of limitation, there are certain guarantees that are provided even where we are seeking for limitation. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, there is one or two areas where I have seen that the language is a little bit too broad that the law may be subjected to abuse. Therefore, I would want to encourage that, in those instances, there should be appropriate amendments. Otherwise, the rights of everyone are guaranteed. I want to give an example in situations where searches and confiscations are ordered, where the enforcing officers must be required to seek court orders. If we leave it open, certain people, and especially the police, may abuse such provisions. Otherwise, I would want to encourage extra vigilance by our police officers and other security agents. With those few remarks, I beg to support."
